Moku Moʻolelo Media Training

Honoring Place. Uplifting Community. Empowering Veterans.
A Veteran-Centered Storytelling Initiative

Moku Moʻolelo Media Training

The Mapunapuna district sits within the historic Moanalua–Keehi ahupuaʻa — a place shaped by generations of workers, families, cultural practitioners, and community stewards. We invite the business community to join us in supporting a program that empowers local veterans to document the stories of this place through culturally grounded media training.

About the Program

The Moku Moʻolelo Media Training Program provides veterans with:

  • Training in video production, audio storytelling, and digital media
  • Cultural grounding in moʻolelo and place-based knowledge
  • Opportunities to document the history and identity of Mapunapuna
  • A pathway to meaningful skill-building and community contribution

This initiative is delivered in partnership with ʻŌlelo Community Media, cultural practitioners, and the VA.

Why Your Support Matters

Your contribution helps us:

  • Provide ʻŌlelo media training for veterans
  • Certify participants in technical training and video production
  • Develop place-based film and video
  • Build a digital archive of Mapunapuna's stories as part of the Moanalua district and ahupuaʻa
  • Support veterans in developing new skills and community purpose
  • Extend the Manaʻolana program hosted at the Keehi Memorial Site

This is an investment in people, place, and the future of our community's stories.
