Read MoreThe population of Veterans associated with some level of homelessness, previously homeless, or at risk for homelessness typically lack the resources to maintain a path of wellness and healing. Mana’olana addresses this and other social stigmas and disparities by developing and maintaining a therapeutic work and educational environment for eligible Veterans wishing to extend their wellness journeys.
Mana’olana managed projects target urban green-spaces that serve as places of hope, healing, and growth toward a better life and connection to the ‘āina. Interdisciplinary programming implements evidence-based therapeutic activities for mental health and physical rehabilitation through participation in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and other purposeful projects.
The Dept of Veterans Affairs Homeless/HUD VASH Program has partnered with Ke’ehi Lagoon Veterans Memorial Organization (KLMO) with a shared mission of proactive outreach to our target population of Veterans. The vast outdoor resources on the property will be utilized to offer educational-based therapeutic activities to Veterans.
